Antionette Marbray

Rollins College President Brooke Barnett announced today the appointment of Antionette Marbray as vice president for external relations and general counsel, marking an important addition to the College’s senior leadership team. Marbray will begin her tenure on July 20.

Marbray currently serves as vice president for legal affairs and government relations at Stevenson University in Maryland, where she has played a transformative role in shaping the institution’s legal and external affairs strategy. She built the university’s first in-house legal operation, strengthening governance, compliance, and risk management. As Stevenson’s chief government relations executive, she represents the university on Capitol Hill and in state and federal advocacy efforts, cultivating relationships that deliver meaningful outcomes.

“A Florida native with two Rollins alumni family members, Antionette Marbray brings a deep appreciation for the College’s legacy, a clear understanding of what makes Rollins distinctive, and an enthusiasm for what we are working to build together,” says President Brooke Barnett. ”She is the kind of colleague who many across campus rely on for wise counsel, and she develops the relationships on and off campus that will lead to continued success. Antionette brings not only exceptional professional credentials, but a genuine personal connection to this institution and region.”

In addition to her work in legal affairs, Marbray has held senior leadership roles across student affairs, faculty engagement, and campus operations. At San Diego State University, she oversaw a broad portfolio that included student health and wellness, career services, and student-success initiatives while also contributing to emergency operations, fundraising, and strategic planning. Her experience reflects a cross-functional leadership style that aligns closely with Rollins’ aspirations for this role.

Marbray is active in several industry organizations, including the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU), and HERS (Higher Education Resource Services), where she currently serves on the board.

She holds a J.D. from Duke University, a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Florida, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and is a member of the Florida Bar.

“I am thrilled to join Rollins College at this important moment, and I am deeply grateful to President Brooke Barnett for the opportunity to serve as vice president for external relations and general counsel,” says Marbray. “I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues to advance the mission and goals of this great institution, immersing myself in the rich culture and history of Rollins and Winter Park and making meaningful contributions both on and off campus.”
